The invention provides a refrigeration and cold storage treatment method based on an automotive thermal management system and an automobile. The automotive thermal management system comprises a cooling liquid loop and a refrigerant loop. The method comprises the steps that whether a battery cooling loop, a passenger compartment and/or an electric drive in the vehicle thermal management system are refrigerated or not is determined according to environment information and current state information of the vehicle thermal management system; when it is determined that refrigeration is conducted on a battery cooling loop, a passenger compartment and/or an electric drive in the vehicle thermal management system, a matched refrigeration mode is obtained; in the matched refrigeration mode, a water-cooling air cooler and a radiator are used for refrigeration treatment on a cooling liquid loop; and/or cold storage treatment is carried out on the refrigerant loop through a battery cooler; and/or a refrigerant loop is use
