The method comprises the following steps: calculating immersion depths of air guns with different capacities and time for reaching a main pulse peak value after the air guns are excited; then, based on the calculated time, the sinking depths of the air guns with different capacities are adjusted, the excitation time of the air guns with different capacities is adjusted, so that the time corresponding to the main pulse peak values of the air guns with different capacities in the air gun array is shifted, finally, sharp pulse seismic source wavelets with narrow main pulse waveforms of the air gun array are constructed, and seismic source wavelet frequency band expansion is achieved.
