The method comprises the steps that when it is monitored that a to-be-monitored vehicle is within a monitoring area range of a ground monitoring device, whether the to-be-monitored vehicle meets a preset monitoring condition or not is determined based on the ground monitoring device; if yes, the vertical distance between the to-be-monitored vehicle and the electric wire borne between the two adjacent iron towers is determined based on the external damage following device; based on the vertical distance and a preset distance threshold value, whether the to-be-monitored vehicle is an external damage hidden danger point or not is determined; and performing corresponding prompt according to a determination result.
