The treatment method comprises the following steps: S1, providing synthetic sulfur within 10 days from a synthesis date; wherein the synthetic process of the synthetic sulfur comprises the following steps: mixing sulfite and sulfide salt in an acid solution to obtain the synthetic sulfur, s2, the thallium-containing waste residues, the synthetic sulfur and water are subjected to a hydrothermal reaction together, and treatment liquid and solid thallium treatment residues are obtained; wherein the temperature of the hydrothermal reaction is 180 to 240 DEG C. According to the method, stable solidification of thallium can be achieved, and the leaching risk of thallium in the waste residues is reduced.
