| Zusammenfassung: | Provided is a hair dryer capable of using a method of drying hair from scalp at an appropriate temperature for scalp and hair. The hair dryer (10) is provided with a heating element (43) and an infrared temperature sensor (41) for detecting the surface temperature of the hair of a user in a blowing area. The hair dryer (10) has a temperature threshold value which is a temperature detected by an infrared temperature sensor (41) when the surface temperature of the hair of a user in the blowing area is assumed to be within the range of 50 DEG C +/-5 DEG C, and supplies power to a heating element (43) when the detected temperature is lower than the temperature threshold value. And when the detected temperature is equal to or greater than the temperature threshold value, no power is supplied to the heating element (43).
