Facilitating generation and utilization of group folders

In accordance with embodiments of the present technology, methods, computer systems, computer storage media, and graphical user interfaces are provided for facilitating generation and utilization of group folders. In an embodiment, an indication is received for merging a first folder associated with a first entity and a second folder associated with a second entity. Based on the indication for merging, a group folder associated with the first entity and the second entity is generated. A representation of the group folder is provided for presentation via a navigation pane of the messaging application.
