Zusammenfassung: | The present invention is directed to a connector assembly comprising a connector component outer diameter that is increased relative to an equivalent G-type connector and a receptacle component (also referred to as locknut) inner diameter that is increased relative to an equivalent G-type receptacle to achieve higher current carrying capacity and target frequencies, for example up to 3.0 GHz. In a preferred example, this results in a connector assembly consistent with the present invention having a connector component with an outer diameter of at least 10.70 mm, more preferably 10.76 +/-0.01 mm, rather than a 9.4 mm diameter of an existing G-type connector. Although the diameter is increased, the close-fitting assembly consistent with the invention can reach 75 ohm characteristic impedance so as to maintain rated signal quality.
