The method (100) comprises classifying (107) individual points (11a) of the first sensor data (11) and individual points (12a) of the second sensor data (12) as correlated or uncorrelated, and merging (114) the first sensor data (11) and the second sensor data (12) to obtain third sensor data (28) of the combined scene wherein only correlated points (26) of the first sensor data (11) and correlated points (26) of the second sensor data (12) are merged, to form third sensor data (28) of the combined scene.
