The invention relates to a method (400) for operating an exhaust gas aftertreatment device (100, 200, 300) having at least one first catalytic cleaner (11, 12) and an ammonia slip catalytic cleaner (13) arranged downstream of the at least one first catalytic cleaner (11, 12), comprising: determining (410) operating parameters of the ammonia slip catalytic cleaner (13); determining (420) a regeneration demand of the ammonia slip catalytic cleaner (13) based on the operating parameter; and supplying (440) air to the ammonia slip catalytic cleaner (13) as a function of the regeneration demand. A computing unit (20) and a computer program product for carrying out such a method (400) are also proposed.
