Zusammenfassung:A spectrophotometric system and method for measuring the concentration of discrete water-soluble compounds or minerals in the water of a live aquaculture pond is provided. The system includes a portable wireless spectrophotometer having an optical code reader for automatically identifying a water sample cuvette. The cuvette has an optical code identifier and is preloaded with at least one solid color indicating reagent dry tablet. The interior size and shape of the cuvette are such that smaller tablet types fall to the bottom, larger tablet types do not fall to the bottom, and vertically stay at the middle height inside the cuvette, thereby creating vertical separation between tablet types and avoiding cross-reaction or degradation during storage or transportation.
