Stacked heterojunction solar cell for broadband and customizable spectral coverage

Visible light transparent photovoltaic devices with bulk heterojunction (BHJ) are disclosed. Such devices are transparent to visible light, but absorb near infrared light and/or ultraviolet light. A photovoltaic device may include a bottom visible light transparent electrode and a top visible light transparent electrode and a plurality of stacked BHJ active layers having complementary absorption characteristics.
