The invention provides an ice maker. The ice maker comprises a shell, a water receiving box, a first sensor, an ice making system, a drain valve and a controller, the shell is provided with an assembling position used for being detachably connected with the water receiving box. The water receiving box is detachably connected to the assembly position; the first sensor is used for sensing whether the water receiving box is connected to the assembly position or not; the controller is electrically connected with the first sensor, the ice making system and the drain valve, and the controller is configured to determine whether the water receiving box is connected to the assembly position or not based on a detection result of the first sensor; if not, allowing the ice-making system to execute ice-making operation, and closing the drain valve to prohibit wastewater discharge through the drain valve.
