The invention provides an automatic bagging device and method which are applied to automatic bagging of yarn balls on a conveying line, and the automatic bagging device comprises a rack, a bag storage mechanism, a bag taking mechanism, a grabbing mechanism and a bagging mechanism. The bag storage mechanism is used for storing bags to be used. The bag taking mechanism is arranged on the rack, located above the conveying line and used for sucking the bags from the bag storage mechanism and opening the bags after moving to the bagging position. The grabbing mechanism is arranged on the rack and used for grabbing the yarn roll to be transferred to the bagging position. The bagging mechanism is arranged on the rack and used for opening a bag, and the grabbing mechanism is matched with the bagging mechanism, so that the yarn balls are loaded into the bag to complete bagging.
