The invention discloses a method for analyzing the content and distribution of rare earth in a plate. The method comprises the following steps: respectively sampling the edge part, 1/4 part and center of the rare earth steel plate in the width direction as samples; respectively carrying out rare earth content detection on the obtained samples; and calculating the average content of the rare earth in the rare earth steel plate by using the obtained rare earth content of each sample, and evaluating the content and distribution of the rare earth in the rare earth steel plate.
