Cell surface receptor binding compounds and conjugates

The present disclosure provides a class of compounds comprising a ligand moiety that specifically binds to a cell surface receptor, such as a mannose-6-phosphate receptor (M6PR) or a cell surface asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR). A cell surface M6PR or ASGPR binding compound can trigger a receptor to internalize the bound compound into the cell. Ligand moieties of the present disclosure may be linked to a variety of moieties of interest without affecting specific binding to cell surface receptors such as M6PR or ASGPR and its function. Also provided are compounds that are conjugates of a ligand moiety attached to a biomolecule (e.g., an antibody) that can utilize a cellular pathway to remove specific proteins of interest from the cell surface or from the extracellular environment.
