Zusammenfassung: | Systems and methods for improving the efficiency of an apparatus for powering a process gas compressor using a gas turbine engine are disclosed. Examples of such an apparatus include an ammonia production apparatus in which a gas turbine engine is used to power a process gas compressor, and in which exhaust gas from the gas turbine engine is supplied as combustion gas to a reformer. An increase in efficiency is achieved using a booster compressor to improve the performance of the gas turbine engine. According to some embodiments, the booster compressor may be used to reduce power consumption of the process gas compressor. According to some embodiments, a side stream from the booster compressor may be supplied to the furnace to supplement combustion gases provided by the gas turbine engine exhaust. The disclosed methods and systems improve the efficiency of the apparatus while maintaining a load balance between the furnace and the process gas compressor driven operation.
