The invention discloses a water-based coating composition with high storage stability, which comprises a film-forming resin (A), a curing agent (B), a solvent (C) and an auxiliary (D), the solvent (C) comprises isooctanol, the auxiliary (D) comprises a rheological agent, the rheological agent comprises a thickening agent, and the thickening agent comprises a water-based solvent. Wherein the thickening agent is selected from a combination of at least two of a polyurethane thickening agent, a polyamide thickening agent and an alkali swelling thickening agent.
