The invention provides a method for immobilizing heavy metals by using a phosphoric acid-based geopolymer, which comprises the following steps of: generating the phosphoric acid-based geopolymer by using a phosphoric acid solution and a silicon-aluminum material as reactants, and immobilizing heavy metal elements in the solution by using the phosphoric acid-based geopolymer. According to the technical scheme, while the heavy metal is effectively fixed, the prepared geopolymer has certain mechanical properties, can be used as a low-cost green building material or used for solid waste landfill and the like, and has additional economic benefits.
