A medical device may include an elongate body, a balloon positioned at a distal end portion of the elongate body, and one or more pressure wave transmitters positioned within the balloon along a central longitudinal axis of the elongate body. The one or more pressure wave emitters may be configured to propagate pressure waves radially outward through the fluid to disrupt a calcification lesion at the targeted treatment site. At least one of the one or more pressure wave emitters may include an electron emitter including a first electrode and a second electrode.
