The method comprises the steps that the real-time terminal voltage, current and initial SOC of a power battery are collected; establishing a battery model, and establishing a model predicted value equation according to the battery model and an ampere-hour integral method; sOC estimation is carried out by using the terminal voltage and the model predicted value equation in combination with an EKF algorithm, and the SOC is output; whether the SOC is lower than 10% or not is judged, if the SOC is lower than 10%, the ampere-hour product method is switched to conduct SOC estimation, and if the SOC is not lower than 10%, the EKF algorithm continues to be used for conducting SOC estimation. By means of the mode, the problem of accumulative errors caused by long-time use of the ampere-hour integral method and the problem of tail end divergence of the EKF algorithm can be solved, and the accuracy and stability of SOC
