The invention provides an intermittent heat treatment furnace which can prevent a treated object from being in contact with a furnace body. An intermittent heat treatment furnace is provided with: a furnace body provided with a top wall, side walls, and a lifting bed; a processing table which is disposed so as to be rotatable with respect to the lifting bed and on which an object to be processed can be placed; a driving device which is provided on the elevating bed and which rotationally drives the processing table; and a sensor that detects a deviation of the object to be processed placed on the processing stage from the reference placement state. The lifting bed can move between a first position where the lower ends of the side walls are opened and a second position where the lower ends of the side walls are closed.
