The process comprises the following steps: 1, taking out ethylene glycol and alkali metal alkoxide; 2, carrying out exchange reaction on the raw materials to generate alkali metal glycol salt and lower alcohol; 3, carrying out condensation reaction on the alkali metal glycol salt and sulfuryl fluoride to generate ethylene sulfate and metal halide salt; 4, refining the generated ethylene sulfate and metal halide salt to obtain crude ethylene sulfate; 5, adding the crude product ethylene sulfate into a vacuum extraction tank; 6, adding n-butane into the extraction tank, adjusting the temperature for extraction, and separating an extracted organic phase after standing and layering; and 7, removing the solvent for extracting the organic phase to obtain pure ethylene sulfate. The invention belongs to the technical field of preparation of ethylene sulfate, and particularly relates to a process for preparing ethylene sulfate.
