Zusammenfassung: | The present disclosure provides'adjusted ignition timing for engine restart '. Methods and systems are provided for restarting an engine after an engine idle-stop. In one example, a method may include adjusting spark ignition timing based on an estimate of a fuel-to-air equivalence ratio (phi) and an estimate of cylinder turbulence prior to an engine restart after an idle-stop. Optimal spark ignition timing based on estimated Phi and cylinder turbulence during engine restart may result in stable combustion and torque output sufficient to at least partially mitigate the demand for the starting device.
