SERVICE PROVIDING NETWORK FUNCTION SELECTION IN 3GPP COMMUNICATION

Mechanisms are provided for enabling selection of a service providing NF in a 3GPP communication network. One method is performed by an NRF. The method comprises obtaining (S102) a registration request from each of the service providing NFs. Each registration request includes an NF configuration file. Each NF configuration file includes a security setting attribute. The method comprises storing (S104) an NF profile for the service providing NF. The method comprises obtaining (S108) a discovery request from a service request NF. The request indicates an NF type. The method comprises providing (S110) a discovery response to the service request NF. The discovery response includes an NF profile for at least one of the service-providing NFs of the NF type, thereby enabling selection of the service-providing NFs.
