Zusammenfassung: | The invention discloses a system and method for efficient wake-up for beacon reception. In accordance with an embodiment, systems and methods are disclosed for efficient wakeup in a wireless communication device (140, 150, 160) to receive beacons (210, 212) without having a significant impact on battery power and data throughput. A wireless device (140, 150, 160) receives a beacon from a network element, such as an access point (180). If beacons (210, 212) are not received within a defined interval according to the schedule, then the wireless device (140, 150, 160) determines a pattern of beacon reception timing and uses a weighted score process to select the best possible timing pattern and use it as a schedule for receiving beacons on a forward travel basis, it is thus avoided that the wake-up remains in all times to receive misaligned beacons.
