The method comprises the following steps: receiving a request for providing a pixel picture sent by a client; obtaining basic information of the pixel picture from a first database, wherein the basic information comprises canvas width, canvas height and a color code table; canvas data of the pixel picture is obtained from a second database, the canvas data comprises coded data obtained after color coding and coordinate coding are carried out on the pixel picture with a visible pixel unit in the pixel picture as a unit, and color coding is carried out according to the color code table; and sending the basic information and the canvas data to a client, so that the client decodes according to the basic information and the canvas data to obtain the requested pixel picture.
