Vacuum chamber seal

A seal for a vacuum chamber is disclosed that is formed of two outer insulating blocks (14), (16), an intermediate insulating block (34), (36), a number of inner insulating sheets (74), (76), (78), and a number of outer insulating sheets (80), (82), (84). A first outer insulating block (14) is sealed between the first wall (2) of the vacuum chamber and the first power transmission plate (10). A second outer insulating block (16) is sealed between a second wall (4) of the vacuum chamber and a second power transfer plate (12). An intermediate insulating block is sealed between the first power transfer plate and the second power transfer plate. The inner insulating sheets are arranged in slots (62), (64), (66) in a first side of the intermediate insulating block.
