Zusammenfassung: | The pre-formation rate of the catalyst during hydroformylation may be reduced in the presence of carbonate. The carbonate mitigation process can include treating the hydroformylation reaction product with an aqueous carboxylic acid solution under oxidizing conditions to form an aqueous deactivated catalyst solution having a pH of about 4 or less, reducing the hydroformylation reaction product to form a reduced reaction product, passing a transport gas stream through the reduced reaction product to gas strip carbon dioxide therefrom, and reducing the reduced reaction product to form a carbonate mitigation product. Contacting an aqueous caustic solution with the stripped reduction reaction product to form a partially consumed aqueous caustic solution, combining at least a portion of the partially consumed aqueous caustic solution with an aqueous deactivated catalyst solution to form a combined aqueous mixture sufficiently acidic to decompose carbonate, and extracting the Group 9 transition metal carboxylate fro |
