The memory controller includes processing circuitry configured to read sub-stripe data from each of a plurality of non-volatile memory devices connected with a RAID (redundant array of inexpensive disks), check error information of at least one of the sub-stripe data, and, in response to the at least one of the sub-stripe data having an uncorrectable error, determine whether the at least one of the sub-stripe data has a non-correctable error.
