Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to an on-demand inkjet printer with optimized nozzle design. An ink-on-demand (DOD) printer has an ejector that may include a nozzle that includes: a canister in communication with a source of printing material; a constriction dissipation section in communication with the canister, the constriction dissipation section may include an elongate internal passage; and a shaped tip in communication with the contracted dissipative section, the shaped tip may include an outlet orifice. The (DOD) printer also includes a power source configured to supply one or more power pulses to an ejector that causes one or more drops of the printing material to be ejected from the nozzle. The DOD printer may include a constricted dissipative section configured to prevent fluid flow, the constricted dissipative section being cylindrical or axisymmetric and having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the tank and smaller than the diameter of the shaped tip.
