The encryption difficulty-based financial tool is based on expected values, includes a predetermined reward for each block of cryptocurrency, a predetermined hash rate, a predetermined financial tool length, a predetermined random value for the base cryptocurrency, and a current difficulty level employed by the base cryptocurrency, and may vary as the difficulty level varies. The liquidation settlement system calculates a daily varying margin for the valuation of the financial instrument and provides a physical delivery of the base cryptocurrency to meet the varying margin.
