The preparation method of the constant-current flow pattern regulator comprises the following steps: in an inert atmosphere, in the presence of an emulsifier and an initiator, taking acrylamide, butyl acrylate and 3-[[2-(acryloyloxy) ethyl] dimethyl ammonium] propane-1-sulfonate as monomers, and carrying out emulsion polymerization to obtain the constant-current flow pattern regulator, and cutting the gel obtained by emulsion polymerization into small blocks, washing with a solvent, drying and crushing to obtain polymer powder. The zwitterionic polymer prepared by the method disclosed by the invention can be used as a flow pattern regulator for the constant-rheological water-based drilling fluid, and can keep the constant-rheological property at 2-95 DEG C.
