The invention provides an atmospheric transmissometer and a using method thereof.The atmospheric transmissometer comprises a transmitter and a receiver which construct a main light path, a first window and a second window which are made of the same material are arranged on a machine shell of the transmitter, and the first window and the second window are vertically arranged and form a V-shaped arrangement structure with an outward opening under the overlooking view angle of the transmitter; a first transmitter and a first receiver which construct a first auxiliary light path are arranged in a casing of the transmitter, and the first auxiliary light path penetrates through the first window and the second window; and/or, a casing of the receiver is provided with a third window and a fourth window which are made of the same material, the third window and the fourth window are vertically arranged and form a V-shaped arrangement structure with an outward opening under the overlook view angle of the receiver, and a
