A method for producing a (hydro) halocarbon according to another embodiment of the present invention comprises a step for purifying the (hydro) halocarbon by subjecting an azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition containing the (hydro) halocarbon and a compound different from the (hydro) halocarbon to reduced pressure distillation, the (hydro) halocarbon and the compound each having a normal boiling point of 80 DEG C or less.
