The invention relates to poly (gamma-thiobutyrolactone). The invention discloses a compound as shown in a formula (I). The invention also discloses a high-molecular compound which is prepared by the following preparation method which comprises the following step: in an organic solvent, in the presence of a main catalyst, carrying out polymerization reaction on the compound as shown in the formula (II), so as to obtain the high-molecular compound, the main catalyst is one or more of phosphazene base, guanidine organic base, amidine organic base, N-heterocyclic carbene organic base and N-heterocyclic olefin organic base.
