The continuous tracking and reconnaissance method comprises the following steps: step 1, electrifying and self-checking photoelectric pod equipment and initializing inertial navigation of a pod base; step 2, for a reconnaissance fixed point target, positioning a ground target by a pod, and calculating longitude and latitude coordinate values of the target; and step 3, according to latitude and longitude coordinates of the ground target and the pod, and according to the northeast-east-sky speed of inertial navigation, obtaining rotation target angular speeds of the pitching frame and the azimuth frame of the pod, and further driving a motor to rotate, so that a visual axis always points to a fixed point target.
