The preparation method of the 20CrMnTiH gear steel comprises the following steps: continuously casting molten steel of the 20CrMnTiH gear steel under the conditions of low superheat degree, constant temperature, constant speed, weak cooling and dynamic end stirring to obtain a casting blank; performing high-temperature diffusion heating on the casting blank, wherein the high-temperature diffusion heating comprises preheating, first-stage heating, second-stage heating and soaking which are performed in sequence; and rolling the casting blank subjected to high-temperature diffusion heating, and then quickly cooling to obtain the 20CrMnTiH gear steel. According to the method provided by the invention, the 20CrMnTiH gear steel of which the banded structure grade is less than or equal to 1.5 grade can be obtained.
