Zusammenfassung:	The invention provides a distance measuring device and method, the distance measuring device comprises a laser distance measuring sensor, a projector and a controller, the laser distance measuring sensor is used for detecting the distance to a target position; the projector is used for projecting a target image to the target position, and the target image is used for representing the distance detected by the laser distance measuring sensor; the laser distance measuring sensor and the projector are both electrically connected with the controller, and the controller is used for controlling the projector to project light to the target position under the condition that detection of the laser distance measuring sensor fails. According to the distance measuring device, the projector is arranged to project light to the target position under the condition that the laser distance measuring sensor fails to detect, the light projected by the projector can serve as supplementary light of the laser distance measuring sens
