Zusammenfassung: | The invention discloses application of an F-box protein coding gene OsFBX250 in rice breeding, and belongs to the field of genetic engineering and plant genetic breeding. The novel gene OsFBX250 for regulating and controlling the rice grain shape is separated and cloned for the first time, and the grain weight is increased due to the fact that the grain length, the grain width and the grain thickness of grains in a functional acquisition type mutant lg7 of the gene OsFBX250 become longer, wider and thicker. Through overexpression of the OsFBX250 gene, transgenic rice with increased grains and increased grain weight can also be obtained; meanwhile, the expression of the OsFBX250 gene is knocked out or reduced, so that rice grains become smaller, and the grain weight is reduced. Therefore, the OsFBX250 gene can be applied to rice breeding, so that the rice grain shape is enlarged, and the rice yield is increased. The invention lays a foundation for rice cultivation of transgenic plants with changed grain shapes |
