Zusammenfassung: | Techniques for laser processing an electrochromic glass or other thin film device in which one or more layers are sandwiched between two thin film conductive layers include directing a laser beam onto a first location on a surface of a workpiece. The laser beam includes substantially collimated pulses of electromagnetic radiation having an energy density of about 1 J/cm2 to about 10 J/cm2 in a spot having a reference dimension of at least about 5 mm at the surface of the workpiece. The laser beam removes material from the first location, then moves to a second location on the surface of the workpiece, and removes material from the second location. The laser beam is then moved to one or more additional locations on the surface of the workpiece and material is removed from the one or more additional locations.
