Hair enhancing composition

The invention discloses a hair care composition. The hair care composition comprises about 0.04% to about 2% by weight of azelaic acid; from about 0.04% to about 1% by weight of oleic acid; wherein the ratio of oleic acid to azelaic acid is from about 1: 1 to about 1: 3, alternatively from about 1: 2.5 to about 1: 3 oleic acid to azelaic acid, alternatively from about 1: 2 to about 1: 3 oleic acid to azelaic acid, alternatively from about 1: 1.5 to about 1: 3 oleic acid to azelaic acid; and an aqueous carrier. The hair care composition may also include a silicone. In addition, the hair care composition may include from about 0.1% to about 10% by weight of a cationic surfactant system. The hair care composition may also include from about 1% to about 15% of a high melting point fatty compound. The hair care composition provides an increased strength benefit.
