Zusammenfassung:Designs of a low power, fast spectrum molten fuel salt nuclear reactor (300) are described that may be used to facilitate understanding of the molten salt reactor, its design, and its operation. Furthermore, the described designs may be suitable for extraterrestrial applications as described herein for use as low gravity, moon-based, Mars-based, or space-based generators. These low power reactors include a reactor core volume (302) defined by a radial neutron reflector (332) enclosed in a reactor vessel (304) in which heated fuel salt flows from the reactor core through conduits (361) between the radial neutron reflector and the reactor vessel and back into the reactor core.
