Foam abrasives and methods of making same

The invention relates to a foamed abrasive material (10) for grinding workpieces, comprising a base body (14) made of a foam material, in particular a polyurethane foam material, and abrasive grains (12) fixed on at least one surface (16) of the foamed abrasive material (10) by means of a base binder (18) made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). According to the invention, the abrasive particles (12) are covered with a covering binder (20).
