Quinophthalone compound, pigment composition and color filter

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a quinophthalone compound which, as a pigment derivative, can exhibit an aggregation-inhibiting effect on yellow organic pigments such as quinophthalone, and which can be made into a pigment composition having good dispersibility and excellent color characteristics such as tinting strength and clarity. This quinophthalone compound is represented by formula (1). [In formula (1), R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a phthalimide-based atom group represented by formula (2), or an imidomethyl atom group represented by formula (3). X1-X16 in formula (1) and X17-X20 in formula (2) each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or an imidomethyl group represented by formula (3). In this case, the total number of imide methyl groups represented by formula (3) among R1, R2 and X1-X20 in formula (1) and formula (2) is 1 to 4. In formula (3), Y represents an arylene group which may be substituted with a halogen atom, an arylsulfo
