The invention provides a message processing method and device. The method is applied to any forwarding device in a deterministic network, and comprises the following steps: when a message is received, determining a sending period of the message and a scheduling queue corresponding to the sending period; when it is judged that the number of the messages in the scheduling queue is not smaller than a set number threshold value set for the scheduling queue, the sending period of the messages is recalculated according to the time when the messages are received, the preset offset time, the preset sending period duration and the total number value of the preset sending period; selecting a scheduling queue meeting a preset condition from the scheduling queues of which the queue numbers are greater than the queue numbers of the scheduling queues, and determining the selected scheduling queue as a scheduling queue corresponding to the re-calculated sending period; and the related messages are cached in the selected sch
