The component may include a composite structure configured to provide a visual effect and including an intermediate layer between a base/substrate and a cover including a glass material. When illuminated, the composite structure may create a composite visual effect on and/or within the composite structure, at the surface of the cover, and/or at the intermediate layer. The cover may include elements and/or processes to provide a visual effect. The intermediate layer may include a glass layer including elements and/or treatments that provide a visual effect. The composite visual effect may include a visual effect below a surface of a cover of the composite structure. The composite visual effect may include a depth effect when not illuminated and an enhanced depth effect when illuminated.
