Zusammenfassung: | An apparatus and method for contactless optical imaging of a selected surface area of a user's hand wherein the surface area is actively guided in a contactless manner to a target position relative to an image capture unit. To this end, the device has a frame (5) into which a hand is inserted, said hand taking an actual position substantially dependent on the target position. Furthermore, the device comprises at least one active device for positioning the respective actual position and an output unit (7) via which feedback is given to the user and the user repeatedly guides the surface area to the target position. Advantageously, the device and method are suitable for distinguishing between a real hand and an artificial hand.
