Carbon monoxide production

The invention relates to a method for producing carbon monoxide, comprising the following steps: a) humidifying a reaction gas containing carbon dioxide with water; b) supplying the humidified reaction gas of step a) into the electrolytic cell (1); and c) electrolyzing the humidified reaction gas supplied according to step b) in an electrolytic cell (1), thereby obtaining carbon monoxide. With the described method and the described device (12), carbon monoxide can be produced by CO2 electrolysis with particularly high efficiency.
