The present invention relates to methods of using cathinone to treat conditions and symptoms caused by the menstrual cycle, in particular methods of using 3-methylmethcathinone (3-MMC). The present invention also relates to kits comprising 3-MMC for use in the treatment of individuals suffering from conditions and symptoms caused by the menstrual cycle.
