The fracturing propping agent is characterized by comprising the following components in parts by weight: 50-75 parts of red mud, 5-10 parts of bauxite, 5-20 parts of a composite melting aid, 5-10 parts of a composite reinforcing agent and 3-10 parts of carbon fibers. The invention also provides a production process of the special fracturing propping agent for shale gas, which is characterized by comprising the following steps: weighing the raw materials, grinding, granulating and sintering to finally obtain the fracturing propping agent with good performance. In the fracturing propping agent prepared by the invention, the use amount of the red mud is greater than 50%, the red mud is mainly used as a combustion improver, and the red mud contains a higher content of fluxing substance, so that the firing temperature of the fracturing propping agent can be obviously reduced, and under the condition, the utilization of the existing industri
